Overseeing production for the Rivendell Organics hot-house production system & its ongoing development. Includes maintenance of all aspects of the production system, inventory & equipment, sales to the local, state & interstate markets & all staffing requirements for Rivendell Organics.
September 2005 - Hot house construction team
Commenced construction work for the Rivendell hot-house production system.
 
 
2002-2004 Co-ordinator for Jungle Patrol Community Safety Inc.
Supervise cleaners, read daily log book, respond to complaints etc. Liaise with staff, re roster.  Organise & supervise work for the dole participants. Negotiate cleaning contract with Council, Invoice Lismore City Council fortnightly. Maintain cleaning equipment & supplies. Supervise Street-Beat service. Check mail & email, pay accounts, respond to incident reports to assess town social climate. Maintain First-Aid kits, radios & batteries. Organise & monitor roster, respond to situations, ( assaults, thefts, community complaints, etc.) Office administration, including accounts, payroll & customer service. Liaise regularly with the Premiers Department & L.C.C. Produce agenda for Committee Meetings. Co-ordinate local events.
 
2002 – 2006 Mardi Grass Jungle Patrol Volunteer
Emergency First-Aid, Crowd & Traffic Control. Radio Control Centre providing communications between Mardi-grass organisers, Traffic control, crowd control volunteers, Police & emergency services.
 
2002 – Commenced Landscaping work for  Harvey Norman at “Everglades” Byron Bay. (Property Maintenance)
 
2002 -  Commenced Training Jungle Patrol. Emergency First-Aid for the Street-beat service.
 
Sept 1997 - March 1998 Work for the Dole Program, Nimbin Community Development Centre
  1. Establishing a nursery and gardens for the community, in  particular the community cafe known as the "Cage".
  2. Restoration and regeneration of native plant species in community parkland areas and grounds.
  3. Helped establish the Aquarius Fair Markets in Nimbin, now a popular tourist attraction.
  4. Planned and laid out bush walking tracks and tours.
  5. During this time I also helped put in disabled and wheelchair access to the community buildings and service areas.
 
Sept 96 - March 97 Bush regeneration and rainforest restoration
Part of a team carrying out work at Tucki Tucki Creek Reserve in Lismore, including:
  1. Path construction, track preparation (foundations), edge laying and cementing,
  2. Pests & weed control:  clearing lantana, privet etc., poisoning / felling Camphor laurel,,
  3. Herbicide application including slice and paint, stem injection and spraying,
  4. Collection of native seed for propagation
  5. Rotation of nursery stock, including potting up from seedling trays to grow tubes to one litre bags and rotation of stack from igloos to shade houses to sun hardening areas,
  6. Identification of native and weed species
  7. Tool knowledge, application and maintenance,
  8. Training - ecology skills, site assessment, plant selection and maintenance, plant physiology, insect physiology and aboriginal land management,
  9. Work experience at Rocky Creek Dam, restoration work on part of the Big Scrub Remnant.

  4. Organic propagation practices, i.e.. use of organic fertilisers and pest management.

  6. Nursery construction and design, i.e.. sprinkler systems, soil bed arrangements etc.

  9. During this time I worked as a casual Kitchen Hand and waiter - Byron Everglades Restaurant.
 
1994 Worked approximately 18 months at Modanville East Estate
Maintaining a native planting of about 1 acre until plants were well established & self maintaining.  Involved slashing of housing blocks, mowing, brush-cutting, weeding, mulching etc.  This was done at the same time as I was working for the Byron Everglades Restaurant.
 
1993-1994 Commenced work at Engineering Elastomers P/L. Yerrongapilly, QLD
Duties included: Mould pourer, Machine Finishing parts on Lathe, Sorting and Deliveries, and General factory work and machine set-up and maintenance.  This included ensuring machines were ready and filled with product for production runs.
 
1992 BC Asian Supermarket in Fortitude Valley, QLD
 Stores and packing  - 12 months approximately.
 
1987-1990. Casual work performed on weekends and holidays during Years 10 to 12 (H.S.C.), and the following year whilst studying the Small Business Catering course at TAFE.
 
1983-1986. Worked at a Macadamia Nut plantation on weekends & holidays. Duties included farm maintenance, brush-cutting, slashing, grafting tree stock & general nursery work. Construction & development of the nut processing plant. Maintenance of  farm equipment.

INTERESTS
Restoration of degraded bushland in surrounding areas and the establishment of a nursery propagating native species and herbs.
Growing interest in and passion for  music .I assisted in a 1999 youth function arranging for a number of local bands, and generally helping in the running of the event. This lead to joining a band & playing gigs for all sorts of music events over many years.
This has  also led to a continuing involvement in Nimbin community events and volunteer work in the area.
